As the 2025 Toyota Tacoma gets new features across the board, its reputation for rugged reliability remains intact. New trim options bring more variety to the lineup of this midsize pickup truck, including a fresh front-end design, high-res screens, and a refreshed lighting package.

For different needs, Toyota offers two cab options with its 2025 Tacoma. With the XtraCab, two people can fit comfortably, and you have extra storage behind the seats. Meanwhile, the Double Cab is a four-door model that can seat five people. You can flip up or fold down the rear seats to increase cargo space. In both cab styles, there is door storage, a center console, and a shelf above the glove box.
The driver's seat is power-adjustable in higher trims, and the steering wheel is heated. Toyota also provides tilt and telescopic steering column adjustments for better positioning. On select models, you can also choose synthetic leather upholstery. For securing child seats in the Double Cab, Toyota adds LATCH anchors on the rear seats and a center seat tether anchor.
The 2025 Tacoma features a head-up display and heated and cooled front seats in the Limited trim. Compared to the previous model, there is also an increased seating position and more headroom, so the driver no longer feels like he is sitting on the ground.
A new front design was introduced for this year's Tacoma. You'll notice the new LED lighting immediately. Wheels are trim-dependent. A set of 17-inch steel wheels is standard on the SR model. The SR5, meanwhile, comes standard with aluminum wheels. The TRD Sport trim sits on 18-inch wheels that look imposing.
There is an option for extra exterior gear, such as metal skid protection and a raised air intake that looks like a snorkel. It is also possible to add blacked-out emblems and hood vents. In the Limited trim, chrome-finished alloy wheels are added for a more refined appearance. You can also add a power moonroof to let in more light or air.

Featuring a trio of powertrains, the 2025 Toyota Tacoma offers powerful performance, refined handling, and strong braking.
Entry-level SR trims are powered by a 2.4-liter turbo-4 cylinder engine that delivers 243 lb-ft of torque and 228 horsepower. In other versions, the same engine is tuned to produce 278 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque. This engine produces 310 lb-ft of torque and 270 horsepower when paired with the six-speed manual gearbox offered on the SR, TRD Sport, and TRD Off-Road Double Cab 4WD.
By default, Toyota's SR comes with rear-wheel drive, but four-wheel drive is optional. The majority of versions come with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The Tacoma is capable of hauling up to 6,500 pounds when equipped with the 278-hp setup and the XtraCab layout. The Double Cab setup, however, can handle up to 6,400 pounds. A 1,500-pound payload is also possible with the SR.
